Schauma Family Days 2023: Enjoy family time in the water

Already last year, the focus of the Schauma Family Days was on encouraging families to spend time together at the swimming pool. The event offers a playful way to teach children how to swim while at the same time emphasizing the quality of shared family time. Unfortunately, learning to swim is no longer a given for an increasing number of children. However, in order to enjoy time in the water in a relaxed way, it is essential to feel safe and confident in the element of water.

In 2023, we continue along this path, as families are facing both new and ongoing challenges related to swimming. Children’s swimming abilities continue to decline, and it is difficult to estimate how many children today are still able to swim at all. What is clear, however, is that there are many obstacles that make learning to swim more difficult. A shortage of swimming instructors and long waiting lists for swimming courses are just some of the problems children face. In addition, swimming pools themselves are dealing with challenges caused by the energy and economic crisis. On top of that, many families are having to reconsider what is essential and what can be considered a luxury due to rising inflation. For us, one thing is certain: spending time with family should never be a luxury. Swimming lessons and shared time at the pool therefore represent the perfect win-win situation for families.

The patron of the Schauma Family Days is none other than Franziska van Almsick, who was already present live at the kick-off event last year. She emphasizes the importance of the event: “With the Schauma Family Days, an important statement is being made that is very close to my heart: children need to learn how to swim! For me, swimming is an essential life skill and, on top of that, it is fun. That is why I am all the more delighted to once again be the patron of the Schauma Family Days in 2023.”

To jointly support children in learning how to swim, Schauma is donating €30,000 to the Franziska van Almsick Foundation. The mission of this foundation is to ensure that every child in Germany can master at least one swimming style. This is not just about staying afloat for a short time, but about making sure that all children feel truly safe in the water and are able to move freely.

The program of the four Schauma Family Days is entirely focused on fun and games for the whole family. There are water obstacle courses, team competitions, swimming lessons and even Twister races, ensuring that both young and old get their money’s worth. Of course, the popular Schauma mascot Schaumi will also be there again, making the Schauma Family Days a very special experience for the entire family.

In addition, Schauma offers a wide range of products designed to provide bathing fun and care for the whole family.
